Q1       What is the need of TQM?

Ans.     To improve the quality i.e. defect prevention and cost reduction

            Compliance to international norms by laboratories and accreditation is ISO 000/ISO             17025 certification

            Assistance in documentation and compliance with ISO 9001:2000 version

            To evaluate and judge the proficiency level of laboratories

            Bench marking in the plants/laboratories

 

Q2       Does NCB undertake interlaboratory  proficiency testing?

Ans.      NCB  conducts such programmes regularly being nodal agency of NABL and also independently.  Nine such programmes on raw materials, clinker, cement and cement mortar cubes have already been conducted by NCB.

 

Q3       Is Calibration Laboratory of NCB accredited?

Ans.      It is accredited by NABL for Dimension Thermal, Pressure and other            miscellaneous parameters like revolution etc.

           

Q4       What is the use of Standard Reference Materials?

Ans.     Standard Reference Materials are used for the Calibration of equipment,             preparation of Standard Solutions in the validation of a Test procedure and in             checking proficiency of a Chemist/operator.

 

Q5       What is uncertainty of Measurement?

Ans.     It is a parameter associated with the result of measurement that characterizes the             dispersion of the true values which could reasonably be attributed to the             measurand.
