CCE draws upon NCB’s engineers and technologists who have acquired expertise and competence through interaction with the cement, construction and allied building materials industries both within the country and overseas on a large number of projects from the day NCB came into existence, i.e., in 1962. Thus, NCB’s engineers and technologists are having rich and valuable experience, spanning over 40 years, in all aspects of cement manufacture, concrete and construction technology. Besides, experts of relevant fields from the industry, machinery manufactures and consultants are invited as guest faculty.

LONG-TERM COURSES

 

Programmes presently offered are:

·                     One-Year Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Cement Technology (Approved by AICTE)

·                     Three-Month Certificate Course in Cement Manufacturing Technology

 

SHORT TERM COURSES

 

Comprise of refresher courses of duration varying from two to five days covering the entire spectrum of cement, concrete, construction and allied building materials technology (Please see indicative list).

 

SPECIAL GROUP TRAINING PROGRAMMES

 

These are customized training programmes on various aspects of cement, concrete, construction and related areas for a group of persons from a single organization for durations varying from one to four weeks. (Please see select list of programmes).

 

CONTACT TRAINING PROGRAMMES

 

Suit the specific requirements of individuals in the areas of physical/chemical/mineralogical testing of cement and concrete including calibration laboratories.

 

ADVANCED SIMULATOR BASED TRAINING COURSES

 

An advance simulator trainer for imparting realistic hands-on-training to cement industry professionals has recently been installed at the Hyderabad unit of NCB.  The new simulator offers a sophisticated platform to cement plant personnel to train for the efficient operation of a modern cement plant based on latest energy efficient grinding and pyroprocessing technologies.

 

ONE DAY TECHNOLOGY AWARENESS PROGRAMMES

 

The objective of these programmes is to bring awareness on newer materials/technologies and testing and evaluation procedures related to cement, concrete and construction.

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

 

Aim at improving the competence of workforce who have not been tested and certified in various trades of construction industry.

 

THE FACILITIES

 

Campus

Ballabgarh Unit of NCB and its Centre for Continuing Education Services are located on the Delhi-Mathura Road, about 34 kms. from Delhi, on a beautifully landscaped area spread over about 16 acres. Hyderabad Unit is located on the Old Mombay road (Mehidipatnam-Gachibowli Road).

NCB organizes training courses at its Units and the sponsors’ sites. 

Boarding/Lodging

Ample well-furnished, air conditioned accommodation with mess is available in the hostel located within the campus at Ballabgarh.

 

Lecture Halls

The Ballabgarh and Hyderabad Units of NCB have spacious class rooms full equipped with state-of-the-art training aids.

 

Library

NCB’s learning resource centre has an impressive collection of the latest books/data bank and information services in print as well as in electronic media. It has also a computer based referencing facility, electronic information products (CD-ROM) and on-line access to international data base.

 

Training Methodology & Environment

The training techniques include lectures, group discussions, case studies, field visits, computer and simulator based training, audio-visual, presentations, educational films, experience sharing, laboratory practical sessions, demonstration and hands-on training. Two-way interaction between the faculty and participants is encouraged. 

 

NCB’s Global Access

For Overseas Cement industry training programmes have been conducted since 1985 and more than 600 professionals have taken advantage of these programmes from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Colombia, Cuba, Dubai, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Philippines, Turkey, Uganda, Yemen, etc. 

 

Recently NCB has successfully conducted four group training programmes for Kuwait Cement Company, Kuwait and trained their 60 professionals in the following areas:

Group Training Programme of Afghanistan Engineers

As quality control and quality assurance is a critical component in construction projects, the World Bank as well as Technical cooperation scheme of Colombo plan, Govt. of India has recommended NCB as a nodal training institute for irrigation projects both in India and overseas countries. NCB has conducted so far several group training programmes for the Irrigation Engineers of Afghanistan & Sri Lanka and trained 400 engineers in various aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance of Concrete Construction in Irrigation Projects.
